I wish you could have heard the genuine laughter. Everyone was so lovely, and I highly recommend.

If you're looking to make new friends in NYC, I met the coolest group of people at Closer. Some people are having friend breakups, others are going through other things or transitions in their lives, and whether you're to find a new best friend or someone to get coffee with, there were people from all different backgrounds - I can not recommend enough.

Everyone was so warm and open to creating real friendships.

I went into this event thinking I was just going to have surface-level conversations like where everyone worked or lived in the city, but we actually has such good conversations, and I made so many new friends.

I had my normal social anxiety going in, but Closer does things a bit differently; everyone comes solo, they provide prompts for you to chat in small groups, and frankly, I had friend crushes on everyone. I honestly can't recommend it more.

As a therapist based in NYC, I know it can be an extremely lonely and isolating place. It's easy for our loneliness to feel unique or that we're the only one experiencing loneliness. The intro Closer event I went to last night was shockingly vulnerable. People were really present, they were really interested in you, and the format fostered such great connectivity and openness.
