Your Host
Alex's is a Foreign Service Officer based in DC, with a knack for bringing people together wherever he goes. He’s shared scotch with friends in Ethiopia, hosted garden parties in Korea, and built a peer support group for entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka. Connection just tends to follow him around.

A dinner for the edge of seasons—the last days of spring giving way to a hazy, golden summer. A bright seasonal pasta, and a crisp salad to bring it all together.

Golden hour. As spring fades and summer approaches, we’re invited to reflect on the transitions we’re making—what we’re ready to let go of, and what we’re stepping into. This conversation is about golden hour moments, both big and small. What does ease, joy, and possibility look like in this season of light? What are we carrying forward, and what are we leaving behind? Let’s talk about the version of ourselves we’re becoming.

What to Know
• Group Chat: You’ll be added to a private GroupMe with your host and fellow guests the day before the event.
• Host Address: The exact address will be shared via email the day before.
• What to Bring: We've got dinner, but this is a BYOB event. Please make sure you arrive with a contribution for your host- whatever you prefer to imbibe!

Event Policies

Distraction-Free Policy
Closer is all about authentic connection. To keep the focus on the moment, we ask attendees to keep phones away during events. Let’s trade screens for real conversations.

Refund Policy
Refunds are automatically issued within 2–5 business days if an event is canceled. While we’re unable to offer refunds for illness, we do allow ticket transfers—just email us the name of the new attendee before the event. If an event is rescheduled, you can request a refund within 48 hours of the update if the new date doesn’t work for you. These policies help us keep Closer running smoothly and accessible to all.
