Venue
Join us at the Encore Community Services Aging Through Arts Center, 239 W 49th Street, near 8th Ave, in the basement of St. Malachy’s Church. 

What to Know
We’ll be assembling meal packs for older adults in need, packing both nutritious meals and essentials like milk, bread, and fruit—items that are often hard to access through traditional food pantries. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting up to 15 lbs to help keep the process running smoothly.

What to Wear
Comfort is key! Long pants, a shirt with sleeves (no tanks or shorts), and closed-toe shoes are perfect. After a brief orientation, we’ll get started on packing and making a real difference together.

Group Chat
You’ll be added to a private GroupMe with your fellow members the day before the event to coordinate meeting up.

Event Policies

Refund Policy
Refunds are automatically issued within 2–5 business days if an event is canceled. While we’re unable to offer refunds for illness, we do allow ticket transfers—just email us the name of the new attendee before the event. If an event is rescheduled, you can request a refund within 48 hours of the update if the new date doesn’t work for you. These policies help us keep Closer running smoothly and accessible to all.
